A SCHOOL that has been fighting for a hall for more than ten years has finally got its wish.
The location of Bisham C of E Primary School, Bisham Road, which is in a conservation area and part of a green belt, meant planning problems put a halt to any of its proposed extensions.
And lack of funds caused further delays.
"It's been one problem after the other with building further delayed by recent floods," said headteacher Jim Cook.
"We started last July and already we are over two months behind."
The schools' first staffroom as well as a secured office and reception unit are among facilities being built at the Bisham Road school.
Its bid for money from the Millennium Fund four years ago was rejected, as its plans were not large enough.
Central Government eventually allocated its 'New Deal' grant which aims to standardise facilities in all schools.
"We are delighted it has all worked out and that pupils will soon enjoy a whole host of new facilities," he added.
Mr Cook is optimistic that the project will proceed smoothly from now on.
He said: "Hopefully it will all be finished by mid-May. We have invited the Bishop of Buckingham along to give the new buildings his blessing on June 9."
Local property developer Michael Shanley financed new shower rooms for the school.
