Marlow Bridge was “completely backed up” yesterday due to a family of swans crossing the road.
The swans decided they would cross the bridge at around 1.45pm on Monday, causing a long queue of traffic. The animals were said to be crossing the road for around ten minutes.
Onlooker Patricia Jones said: “Everyone was taking pictures. It was a very English situation; everyone respected their space and got on with it. They were waddling really slowly."
The animals were swanning across the road “in no rush whatsoever” and were said to be “taking in all the sights.”
Last week, Marlow's swans had their annual health check when a team headed up by the Queen's Royal swan marker David Barber took to the Thames for the annual Swan Upping tradition.
