RE the letter by Ray Bradley about Penn School, I wish to clarify part of it, where he said the full council ratified the decision.
Actually, the Conservatives passed the decision. Labour on Wycombe District Council did not vote in favour.
We spoke against refusal of planning permission as we strongly believe, as individual members, there was a planning gain to be made from the application. In all other aspects Mr Bradley is correct in saying that Cllr Oliver did admit to writing to Conservative group members on planning, encouraging them to attend and, presumably, vote in a certain way. I say 'presumably' because this letter, to my knowledge, has never been made public and to have written only to the Conservative group implies there was a political whip used on what should have been a quasi-judicial issue. It is for the applicants to use that information at any appeal.
Cllr Nigel Vickery, (Lab, Booker and Castlefield Ward), Wycombe District Council
