Marlow Jazz Club hosted legendary guitarist Gary Potter on Tuesday night, who is widely recognised as the finest musician in the “Hot Club” style.
Despite the icy weather, a near capacity crowd packed out the Royal British Legion Hall on Station Approach to hear Mr Potter and his “Hot Club Quartet”.
The “Hot Club” style playing-style means the player can only use their index and middle fingers – a method pioneered by Parisian Jazz guitarist Jean “Django” Reinhardt, following a hand injury.
Potter’s previous appearance in Marlow was recorded and released as a CD. “Django Magic – Live at Marlow Jazz Club” is available from either the club or Marlow Tourist office.
