High Wycombe has been named the best commuter town in the UK, beating the likes of Amersham and Gerrards Cross despite a £4,000 season ticket cost.

The town was named the best across the country by TotallyMoney.com after researches examined London commute times, travels costs, and average house prices.

With a journey time of 30 minutes and annual costs of around £4,180 High Wycombe came out on top, finishing above Woking and Staines in the online list.

South Buckinghamshire towns Amersham and Gerrards Cross were named in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

However, High Wycombe had the most costly season ticket prices in the top 10 – over £1,000 more than the second placed town.

Out of the top ten, Esher, in Surrey, had the minimum travel time with 27 minutes while Erith had the cheapest season ticket at £1,912.
