More than 500 artists will be exhibiting their work in dedicated spaces across the county as part of the annual Bucks Open Studios Exhibition. The Marlow Arts Trail will take place from Saturday, June 11 to Sunday, June 26 with a large variety of artists taking part, ranging from jewellery makers, printmakers and painters. The deadline to enter the Handy Cross Runner’s 24-hour relay is Friday, June 10. The relay is taking place at the Little Marlow running track from Friday, June 17 to Saturday June 18. The club is encouraging people of all ages and abilities to take part, and say entrants do not have to be runners to join in. The 24 hours – which runs from 7pm to 7pm – are broken down in to 30 minute slots which cost £5 to enter. Marlow Town Council is producing a special commemorative coin in celebration of HM The Queen’s 90th Birthday. The bespoke coin, which is being launched on Regatta Sunday, 12th June, will be given to all shortlisted winners of the competitions being hosted by the Town Regatta and Festival on the Sunday family fun day. There’ll be other opportunities to claim one of these keepsakes on the day from the council’s own stall in front of Court Garden House in Higginson Park. The Marlow Players will host a murder mystery evening on Friday, June 24 at Liston Hall from 7.30 pm. Tickets cost £15 which includes a fish and chips dinner. The optional dress code is 1940’s. The picturesque gardens of Lords Wood will be opening for the public to enjoy on Thursday, June 23 and Thursday, September 15 from 11 to 4.30. Guests will be able to enjoy vegetable, flower and herb gardens as well as large water gardens, rockery, orchard woodland and a meadow with a view over the Chilterns. Admission is £4, children go free. Visits are also available from June to September for groups of 15 plus.

Marlow Archaeology will host an illustrated talk by Ben Ford on The medieval Greyfriars excavations at Westgate in Oxford on Thursday, June 16 at 8pm. Two of the country’s top saxophonists will perform at the Royal British Legion Hall on Station Approach on Tuesday, June 21 from 8.30pm. The collaboration is in celebration of the Marlow Jazz Club’s 40th anniversary of its first presentation back in 1976. The pair will be joined by Frank Toms, Denis Smith, and Andy Crowdy.
