A record-breaking summer fair at an Amersham school raised around £6,000 last week, with a special guest from the world of football on hand to entertain families.
Harry The Hornet, mascot at Premier League side Watford, cut the ribbon on St Mary's School Fair last Sunday.
On a sunny afternoon, pupils and parents enjoyed the food, fun and games, and Watford’s Community Sport and Education Trust brought inflatable games and ran skills sessions for youngsters.
Headteacher Mrs Hills said: “Thank you to everyone who supported the Summer Fair at the weekend. Holding the Fair on a Sunday was a new venture for us, but I certainly feel that it paid off.
"I am conscious that such an event cannot happen without a large amount of work and I would like to thank all concerned for making it so successful."
