Firefighters raced to a petrol station in High Wycombe on Wednesday after fears of a fuel leak on the forecourt - but it was later confirmed as a major car oil leak.
Town centre-based crews received panicked 999 calls from staff at the Tesco Express Esso petrol station, in Marlow Road, at about 12.30pm, saying that the vehicle was leaking petrol.
As fears grew over the potentially catastrophic consequences of a huge fuel-leak, firefighters raced to the scene and blocked other drivers from using the petrol station.
A quick inspection revealed that the spillage was a result of an oil leak and sand was used on the forecourt and main road to stop it spreading, Bucks Fire and Rescue confirmed.
