Andrew Howard will be joined by Rory Butcher for the final round of the British GT Championships at Donnington Park.

A crash at Spa Francorchamps saw Beechdean Aston Martin Racing miss their first race in over five years at Snetterton as their car received irreparable damage.

Ross Gunn was then moved back to the GT4 class to help in Jack Bartholomew’s championship bid, leaving Howard without a team mate in the GT3 competition.

After racing against Howard and Beechdean in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), butcher is looking forward to competing alongside the Wycombe Wanderers chairman.

He said: “Having spent most of the year racing Andrew in ELMS, I am looking forward to being on the same team as him for a change. We will be looking for a great result at the last round of the British GT.”

Beechdean have every chance of claiming the GT4 title after a big point swing has taken them within touching distance of current leaders RCIB Insurance Racing.

They are currently 13 points adrift of their rivals and know they must score well to bridge the gap and snatch the championship.

Bartholomew is also in contention to take silverware as he is just 2.5 points behind joint leaders Graham Johnson and Mike Robinson.

The Donnington race meet takes place on the weekend commencing Saturday, September 10.
