Hundreds of shoppers have taken advantage of a free shuttle bus which runs from Pinewood Studios to three train stations – including a London tube stop.

The Pinewood Studios Shuttle bus was set up by Bucks County Council in July and has been paid for by the studios, running from Pinewood’s Double Lodge in Iver Heath to Gerrards Cross, Slough and Uxbridge stations.

A total of 365 passes were handed out to 119 households in the Iver Heath area – with one resident saying he now saves £5 a day on travel.

The new transport system is also being used by students heading in to college and people heading in to the capital.

The bus was launched as part of a section 106 agreement made by the county council after it gave the green light for the controversial expansion of Pinewood Studios.

Pinewood Road resident, Beth Reid, said: “It’s a fabulous free service. I took my son for a day trip into London last week and caught the shuttle to and from Uxbridge station.

“It saves money on car parking fees.”
