A leading politician from Marlow has revealed he will not stand for re-election at Bucks County Council, the Free Press has learned.
Former Wycombe District Council leader Richard Scott will remain on the town and district council, but will leave his county role in May 2017.
He said that he “really enjoyed” his eight years as Marlow’s county councillor, but added it was time to give someone else a go at the job.
Cllr Scott is currently the only representative of the Marlow electoral decision at BCC and it has not yet been revealed who will bid to replace him.
It is understood that he made the decision with Conservative colleagues earlier this week as they start to look ahead to next year’s election.
