A south Bucks film and television studio played a starring role in the filming of iconic scenes in Emmerdale.
Pinewood Studios in Iver Heath was the set of the spectacular car pile-up stunt in the soap last week, which saw actor Bill Ward’s character James Barton killed off in the carnage.
It is the second time the world-famous studio has been used for the soap, with the underwater stage being used to shoot scenes for The Woolpack siege three years ago.
Steve Ross, production manager on Emmerdale, said the latest stunt was “challenging”, however “once again the team stepped up and made the sequence a great success”.
He said: “I have now taken Emmerdale down to U Stage at Pinewood on two occasions. Throughout the process the knowledge, support, advice and professionalism from everyone involved at Pinewood was outstanding.
“As a 'smallscale' production compared to some of the others using Pinewood, I have always found the team very welcoming and supportive and happy to work with you to make the visit enjoyable, productive and very successful.
“It's a great place to take your production.”
Pinewood spokesman Julia Jones said: “Pinewood was thrilled to welcome Emmerdale back again and to build on our existing relationship with them.”
