Staff and pupils at a south Bucks pre-school are celebrating after being rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.
Seer Green Pre-school's leader Pip Richards was described as an “exemplary role model” and staff were praised for their team efforts to “drive improvement continuously in all areas of practice” in the report.
Inspectors also commended staff for “very skilfully” helping children to feel “settled and secure” and said the manager had an “astute understanding” of the Jubilee Hall-based pre-school’s strengths and areas for improvement.
The children were praised for their “high rates of progress”, with inspectors saying they became “articulate communicators with a high regard for the feelings and needs of others”.
They were also seen to achieve “high levels” of independence and showed “excellent” levels of persistence in overcoming problems, such as turning an inside out coat the right way around.
Staff and pupils celebrated the rating with a party at the pre-school, where parents, grandparents, pupils, carers and staff were invited to mark the school’s success.
Spokesman Lucy Gill said: “The staff, committee, parents and children at Seer Green Pre-School were delighted to hear that the pre-school had been awarded ‘outstanding’ following a recent Ofsted inspection.
“It was a wonderful party atmosphere bringing the community together.
“The event saw some heartfelt speeches from pre-school representatives, a beautiful fingerprint tree gift from the children, children’s entertainment from Oscar and plenty of cake all round.
“As was evident at the party, the children love their pre-school and form strong friendships, enjoying the fantastic range of indoor and outdoor facilities and activities to learn and develop, in line with the Early Years curriculum, at their own pace.
“It provides a wonderful preparation for school as well as an excellent community for children and parents alike.
“Seer Green Pre-School [is] quite rightly proud of the achievement – a wonderful recognition for the fantastic job it continues to do.”
