A TEDDY bear with an identity crisis is appealing to people to give him a name to help a charity raise funds for specialist doctors and nurses.
The bear will be making a personal appearance in all bonmarch ladieswear stores during April in the hope that shoppers will give him a name and at the same time raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Customers can choose from a list of 200 names for a donation of £1 and the person selecting the winning name at each store will be able to take the bear home at the end of the month.
"I would love to have a proper name," said the teddy bear through a Macmillan interpreter, "I'm getting a bit tired of plain old 'teddy'.
"Anyone who wants to own me can join in choosing a name for me and at the same time help people living with cancer to have better lives."
Bonmarch has raised more than £500,000 for Macmillan in the last few years and aims to achieve a target of £700,000 by the end of this year.
Macmillan Cancer Relief funds specialist nurses and doctors, buildings for cancer treatment, grants for patients and information services.
