Tributes have been paid to a “lovely, polite and well-mannered young man” who died after being hit by a train last month.
Robert Bentley, of Waller Road, Beaconsfield, was killed after he was hit by the Chiltern Railways train near Beaconsfield Railway Station on April 28.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 3.50pm, and it was confirmed that the collision was fatal, with the 21-year-old sadly being pronounced dead at the scene.
British Transport Police said the incident was not being treated as suspicious.
Neighbour and friend Marie Oshea said Mr Bentley was “lovely”.
She said: “He was just a lovely, polite, well-mannered young man.
“My kids grew up with him – my daughter is heartbroken. My son spoke to him the night before and he seemed fine.
“It is such a shame. He will sadly be missed.”
The line was reopened by Chiltern Railways around an hour after the incident and there were delays of more than an hour between Gerrards Cross and High Wycombe.
An inquest into Mr Bentley’s death is expected to take place on Wednesday, August 30.
