Swimming for disabled people and a healthy living programme are just two community projects Wycombe residents can help win thousands of pounds.
Bucks County Council’s Local Area Forum – a council pot of cash set aside for community projects – is inviting residents to cast votes on how they would like to see £10,000 spent.
The four initiatives nominated for residents’ votes are swimming for disabled people, healthy living for young adults and pre-teens, new skills for socially isolated men and wellbeing for people with mental health conditions.
The winning charity will get £4,000, the second will be awarded £3,000 and those voted into third and fourth places will get £2,000 and £1,000.
County councillor Wendy Mallen, who chairs the LAF, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for residents of all ages in High Wycombe and Downley, to support projects that will benefit the community with some much-needed cash. I'd urge everyone to go online and vote for their favourite charity."
Votes can be cast online at www.highwycombedecides.com or at Wycombe library and supermarkets in the area.
Voting closes on June 30.
