The ex-colleagues of a “much-loved and respected” doctor gathered at her former surgery to unveil a memorial in her name.
The staff at Penn Surgery came together last week to remember Dr Hilary McDermott, who worked at the surgery for several decades and sadly died at the age of 62.
As a tribute, Penn Surgery’s patient participation group installed a double seat with a table dedicated to her memory.
Addressing the gathering, which was attended by Wycombe District Council chairman Katrina Wood, Dr Alison Coggan, senior partner at the surgery, thanked everyone who donated to the memorial.
She said: “It’s really with great sadness that we no longer have Hilary with us but we will fondly remember her as we enjoy having a short break here in our busy day.”
Cllr Wood said: “Dr McDermott was very much a part of the village. Everybody knew her, even if you weren’t her patient.
“I’m really thrilled to have been able to give some money towards this, so it will be a lasting memory for her, particularly in a place she enjoyed, with the views she enjoyed, in the community she loved to live in.”
