Heavy snow could hit south Bucks over the next 48 hours, according to a new weather warning.

As families across the UK celebrate the festivities, experts at the Met Office are warning of potential disruption to the roads and public transport with rain and snow likely.

Buckinghamshire looks set to be one of the areas to be hit by heavy rain on Boxing Day, with current predictions suggesting temperatures could plummet.

There are concerns the wintery weather could turn into heavy snow by Wednesday morning - with High Wycombe among the towns expected to see snow between midnight and 12pm on December 27.

The warning comes just weeks after High Wycombe saw the third highest snowfall in the UK - causing chaos across the county.
