A 20-year-old man from High Wycombe has died and two other men in their early 20s have been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash between at least two vehicles on the A404 on New Year’s Day.

Emergency services were called out to the busy dual carriageway, going towards Marlow from the Handy Cross roundabout, at around 11.45pm following reports of an accident.

The driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash, a Nissan Skyline, suffered fatal injuries and sadly died at the scene.

Police said his next of kin have been informed.

The other two men in their 20s were taken to John Radcliffe Hospital, both with serious injuries and one with potentially life-threatening injuries, while a middle-aged couple in the second vehicle sustained minor injuries and were taken to Wexham Park Hospital, South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) confirmed.

SCAS spokesman David Gallagher said the service was called at 11.47pm on January 1 to reports of the crash in which both cars had rolled over and a number of people were reported as seriously injured and trapped in vehicles.

Three ambulances, two paramedic team leaders in rapid response vehicles, an ambulance officer in a rapid response vehicle, an emergency doctor and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
