Firefighters rescued a horse that had fallen into a hole in the ground in a field in Holtspur at the weekend.
The 10-year-old mare had fallen into the sinkhole, which Bucks Fire said was around two metres deep, in the field in Wooburn Green Lane.
Fire crews from Beaconsfield and Aylesbury, as well as the Animal Rescue Unit from Aylesbury, two urban search and rescue vehicles from Aylesbury and three officers attended the scene at 11.18am yesterday (Sunday).
They dug a trench and an access ramp down to the bottom of the sinkhole, allowing the animal to make its way out.
The mare was not believed to be injured but was checked over by a vet who reportedly said she was seven months pregnant, and is now "fit and well".
