An annual pancake race which raises money for a High Wycombe charity has been scrapped this year because not enough teams signed up.

High Wycombe’s pancake race was due to take place at the Eden Shopping Centre on Tuesday (February 13) but has now been called off by organisers, despite a plea in the Bucks Free Press for more entries

Only three teams had signed up to take part.

The fun race usually sees teams of three people race towards the finish line while flipping a pancake - and previous winners have included the Eden Shopping Centre security team, Royal Grammar School, John Hampden Grammar School and Noodle Nation.

This year, a team from the Bucks Free Press was due to take part.

All proceeds from the annual race go towards helping High Wycombe Shopmobility, who announced the cancellation of the event on Twitter "with a heavy heart".
