A manhunt has been launched after parking warden was left with wrist injuries when his ticket machine was stolen in Bourne End yesterday (Monday).

The victim, a 38-year-old man, was issuing a vehicle, which was parking outside the row of shops in The Parade, with a parking ticket when the owner of the vehicle returned and disputed the ticket.

He then tried to grab the hand-held ticket device from the warden, who refused to let go.

The man continued to pull at the machine, causing the victim to sustain a minor wrist injury.

He then ran off towards Tesco Express in The Parade with the machine.

The thief has been described as a white man, in his late twenties, around 6ft tall with a skinny build.

He was believed to be wearing a navy blue jacket with a blue hooded jumper and light grey tracksuit bottoms.

Investigating officer PC Leigh Andrews, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has any information relating to it.

“If anyone sees the machine we would ask them to hand this into police.”
