A manhunt is underway after a man escaped from prison.

Police are searching for 28-year-old James Frost who was last seen at HMP Springhill in Grendon Underwood, near Aylesbury, at 5.45pm yesterday (Monday).

Officers believe he was picked up and may be travelling in a black Volkswagen Golf. It is believed he could be in the Bracknell area.

Frost is in prison for burglary and drug offences.

He has been described as white, 5ft 5ins tall, with a medium-slim build, blue eyes and blonde hair.

He is clean shaven and has a star tattoo on the left side of his neck just above the collar, and was last seen wearing a blue tracksuit top.

Police do not believe him to be a threat to the public but are advising anyone who sees him to call 999.
