Each week our chief photographer, Anita Ross-Marshall, picks her favourite shot from the archives. She writes:
The use of vibrant colour in photography is one of the most important tools you can use.
If captured well, it can make the image have real energy, punch and drama.
The depth of that colour also has the ability to hold and fix your eyes in one place within the photograph and keep you spellbound.
There is no better way of doing this than the use of blue and red on a sunny day.
