A High Wycombe actress who made her stage debut at the Wycombe Swan will return next month - alongside Quadrophenia star Phil Daniels.

Grace Hogg-Robinson, who trained at the Jackie Palmer Stage School and made her acting debut on the Wycombe Swan stage as part of their community theatre project, will perform again at the St Mary Street theatre from April 4 to 7 in a thrilling adaptation of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

She will star in the adaption of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic gothic thriller with Phil Daniels, who will play both Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

In a secret experiment, the upright and respectable Dr Henry Jekyll splits his personality into two, releasing the fiendish and murderous Edward Hyde.

As Hyde brings about mayhem, terror and death in foggy London, Jekyll needs to find a way to suppress his monstrous alter-ego, before it takes him over for good.

Although Phil is probably best known for his role as Kevin Wicks in EastEnders or his lead role of Jimmy Cooper in Quadrophenia, the television star has a number of theatre credits to his name as well, including King Lear, Anthony and Cleopatra, Les Miserables and This House.

Meanwhile, Grace’s most recent screen credits include BBC and Netflix shows Troy and The Coroner.

The latest adaptation of the popular horror story has been created by David Edgar, Tony Award-winning playwright for stage, radio, television and film. He has adapted a number of his plays for television and radio, and wrote the screenplay for Helena Bonham Carter’s first film Lady Jane.

He founded Britain’s first postgraduate playwriting course, and has also served as President of the Writers’ Guild.

Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde runs from April 4 to 7. Tickets range from £20 to £39, available online at www.wycombeswan.co.uk.
