A group of infant school pupils helped brighten the day of elderly residents last week as they joined them for some Easter crafts and songs.
The children from Willow class at Manor Farm Infant School in Hazlemere made the trip to nearby Hughenden Court retirement housing to spend the afternoon with the elderly residents.
Their visit comes off the back of the heart-warming two-part Channel 4 documentary series, Old People’s Home for Four Year Olds, in which pre-school kids were brought into a retirement home in Bristol to play with elderly residents – with startling results.
Viewers watched in delight as the pensioners became more active and joyful.
At Hughenden Court on Thursday, March 29, the children performed some spring songs and a poem before they all worked together to make Easter chick decorations, which Janice Woodhead, from the school, said were left with the elderly residents to decorate their homes.
She said: “Spending time together is a hugely rewarding experience for all and a joy to experience.”
