A main village road has been shut by police after a man was injured in a fight in the early hours of the morning.
Police were called to Wycombe Lane, close to the junction with Watery Lane in Wooburn Green to a man laying in the road.
The 33-year-old man had suffered a serious head injury.
He was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital where he remains.
It is believed that the man was assaulted by two males, one of whom was carrying a bat.
After the attack, the pair returned to a vehicle and drove off in the direction of Watery Lane towards Beaconsfield or Loudwater.
The police cordon is affecting traffic, with buses diverted and vehicles forced to turn around.
