More than 3,000 people flocked to the first ever deaf, family and dog friendly music festival on Sunday.

Music lovers turned out to enjoy live music, fairground rides and food and drink at the first SubWoofers festival, which took months of organising by Bucks New University students and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, on May 6.

The festival was held at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People's site in Saunderton, near Princes Risborough.

Throughout the day festival-goers were able to soak up the sun in front of the main stage and relax on hay bales or deck chairs.

Talented bands and music acts took to the stage, with Ska Souls UK wrapping up the day.

There were also fairground rides and activities for children to enjoy, including dodgems, bouncy castle and a giant slide and visitors were able to get involved with Bucks New University societies such as Bucks Circus and were able to watch Bucks Blades show off their sword skills.

The day was so successful, plans are already being made for the festival to return next year.

Bucks New University student Kate Woolley, team leader for marketing for SubWoofers said: "The day couldn't have gone any better. Since we began planning this event our aim was to welcome families into the heart of the charity to enjoy something we love - music.

"Seeing people in their thousands making their way onto site for an event that I had been involved in planning was incredible - we can't wait for next year."

Michele Jennings, chief executive of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and Hearing Link, said: “We are delighted that so many people came along to enjoy the first SubWoofers family music festival.

"It was the largest event we have ever held at The Grange, and both our team and the team from Bucks New University did a brilliant job organising such an enjoyable day.

“SubWoofers was held to raise funds for Hearing Dogs, so every ticket that was sold helps us to train more clever, loveable dogs to help deaf people leave loneliness behind and reconnect with life.

"Everyone attending was giving to a very worthwhile cause, and I would like to say a massive thank you to all our generous supporters.

"We are very much looking forward to holding another fantastic SubWoofers next year.”
