I KNOW Mayor Mrs Valerie Razzaq, was personally moved by the documentary about Barbara and Malcolm Pointon, whose lives were so authentically portrayed on TV recently "Love's Farewell".
We would like to thank Valerie for choosing our South Bucks branch of the Alzheimer's Society as one of her three charities, and a share of profits from her Mayor's Appeal events will assist our work for carers and people with dementia in High Wycombe.
A well-founded estimate of total dementia cases for Bucking-hamshire is 4,900, projected to rise to 7,200 by 2021.
So that even if a "miracle vaccine" were ready for release tomorrow, there would still be several generations of dementia sufferers needing life-long care.
