Strictly Come Dancing stars Harry Judd, Louis Smith MBE and Aston Merrygold will form the ‘Ultimate Boyband of Dance’ - and will kick off their tour in High Wycombe.

Harry, Louis and Aston will be touring together in the jukebox theatre show Rip It Up.

Following the smash-hit success of Rip It Up’s 1950s-themed debut tour in 2017, which sold more than 50,000 tickets, the 2018 tour looks set to bring the fabulous soundtrack of the 1960s to life in an explosion of song and dance.

Backed by the Rip It Up live band and a supporting cast of singers and dancers, the trio will dance to songs from British legends like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Kinks, and American superstars such as The Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

Former JLS star Aston appeared on Strictly Come Dancing last year - but fans were horrified when his stint on the show was cut short as the judges axed him in week seven.

For Aston, taking part in Rip It Up is his way of settling “unfinished business”. He said: “My run on Strictly felt like it was cut a bit too short for myself, just because there were certain things I expected from myself and wanted to achieve.

“I also wanted to try and learn. This way I get the best of both. With Rip It Up I get to perform every single night, and I only have to do one lot of rehearsals and wrack my brain a little bit.”

And while the trio have all experienced the Lycra costumes and glitter that comes with Strictly, Rip It Up will feature the “slick and suave” sixties fashion instead.

Aston’s favourite tunes to perform to include “anything by James Brown”. He said: “I will definitely be trying to do a couple of my James Brown moves. For me, that’s the life and soul of the sixties.”

Rip It Up comes to the Wycombe Swan on September 12.
