Residents across South Bucks and Chiltern Districts have been urged to fill out their canvass forms so they can vote in next years’ elections.

Chiltern and South Bucks district councils have sent the forms to homes this week – and will use the information to update the electoral register.

Anyone who does not respond to the form may not be able to vote in future elections.

Chief executive at the councils, Bob Smith, said: “It's important that residents respond as soon as possible, so we can make sure we have the right details on the electoral register for every address in the districts.

"To make sure you are able to have your say in the next elections, simply check the form when it arrives and respond as soon as you can.

"You can even respond online, by text or over the phone, which will help to cut the council's administration costs too.

"If you're not currently registered, your name will not appear on the form.

“If you want to register, the easiest way is online at register to vote, or we'll send you information explaining how to do this in the post.

“In any case, you will still need to complete the form and send it back to us."
