Plans to build a new state-of-the-art leisure centre in Amersham will be scrutinised by members of the public at a series of events.

Chiltern District Council wants to replace Chiltern Pools with an improved centre but some concerns have been raised - including retaining the historic barns, re-providing the nursery, library and community hall, ensuring disabled access, increasing parking provision and ensuring the facilities stay open whilst the centre is built.

Before the new Chiltern Lifestyle Centre proposal is submitted for planning permission, the council has organised information sessions at their offices in King George V Road on August 29 and September 11 and September 20 at Chesham Grammar and October 10 at The Chalfonts Community College.

Each session will run from 4pm to 8pm, except the October event which will run 6pm to 9pm. See www.chilternlifestylecentre.com.
