Hundreds of people descended on Little Marlow at the weekend for its annual fete, helping to raise £6,000 for good causes.

Visitors were treated to a number of new activities this year, including a Punch and Judy show and magic show for children, on Bank Holiday Monday.

Revellers helped to raise thousands for the Wye Valley volunteers, based in Bourne End, and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, among other charities.

Adults enjoyed beer and Pimms in another first, while the Phoenix Harriers returned to put on a show for crowds.

A dog show and live music were also on offer.

Fete chairman Valerie Brownridge said: “Everyone had a lovely afternoon despite the weather – thankfully it remained dry.

“The footfall was slightly down from last year but the weather was much better last year.

“We had lots of new things. The kids loved the Punch and Judy show and the magic show.

“People seemed to enjoy themselves and we took in over £6,000 which we were really pleased with.

“We will choose the rest of the charities at our AGM later this year but we definitely want to give money to the Wye Valley volunteers and the air ambulance. They both do such good work and are local.”
