A major review into three parish councils in South Bucks, which could see some ward areas scrapped, has been launched today.

In June the Free Press reported South Bucks District Council (SBDC) approved plans to investigate abolishing the wards covered by Denham Parish Council in favour of one larger area.

It also agreed to look into requests from Stoke Poges Parish Council to reduce the number of councillors, as well as the removal of wards in Farnham Royal.

Now the district council has announced a review will be carried out of the three parish councils, focusing on size, the number of councillors to be elected and the number, size and names of electoral wards.

A public consultation into the changes will take place until October 12, with SBDC encouraging residents and other interested parties to share their views.

Those looking to take part in the consultation are asked to visit www.southbucks.gov.uk/cgr2018 for more information on the review and how to take part.

The comments will be considered by SBDC’s governance and electoral arrangements committee.
