A major multi-storey car park development in Amersham is one step closer to being finished – which will be celebrated at a special ceremony next week.
The final section of the car park extension in King George V Road has been constructed and “topping out” ceremony is due to be held on Wednesday, September 12.
“Topping out” refers to the installation of the final piece of the structure – signifying that the new building has reached its maximum height.
The 680-space car park is being extended by another 501 spaces due to growing demand from commuters travelling into London.
It is hoped the extension will encourage long-stay parking at the multi-storey and free up more short-stay spots in the Sycamore Road car park – which is closer to the town centre.
The extension is expected to be finished in November this year.
