An investigation into the death of a young aspiring bodybuilder who died in a horror crash on New Year’s Day is still ongoing, more than nine months later.
Jordan Coupland, who lived in Browns Road in Holmer Green, was killed after his Nissan Skyline was involved in a crash with a Land Rover on the A404 Marlow Bypass at 11.45pm.
A pre-inquest review at Buckinghamshire Coroner’s Court on Wednesday morning heard that police are still investigating the circumstances of the 20-year-old’s death, but no one has been charged and there have been no court appearances.
The case is currently being reviewed by the Crown Prosecution Service, but senior coroner for Bucks, Crispin Butler, said he has not yet been told to suspend his coronial investigation.
A further pre-inquest review hearing – the third since his death – has been set for October 17.
Hundreds of people turned out for the funeral for Jordan, a former Royal Grammar School pupil who was described by his friends and family as a gifted sportsman and a “gentle giant”, when it was held on February 10.
