Myself and my husband were invited to a Really unique Marlow evening, writes Louisa Tunney.

We visited the Really Wild boutique at 105 High Street, Marlow, and were greeted with a glass of champagne as well as the scent of fresh flowers and candles and a chance to experience the newly launched Autumn 2018 range.

Really Wild Clothing is the creative brainchild of designer Natalie Lake.

Since its inception some 15 years ago, the brand has offered women ‘British contemporary classics’ with a particular focus on the perfect fit across the entire range from dresses to jackets and the iconic scarves – each design is one of just 50 and will never be mass produced, so buyers know they have invested in something truly special.

Of everything in the collection, to me one item really stands out. The luxurious LIBERTY silk which is incorporated throughout the range is arguably best explored in the unique and feminine patterned shirts which really highlight the incredible versatility of the brand.

Customers comment on not only the striking patterns, but how they can be worn into town or to the races with equally stand out style.

During a talk by Really Wild’s ambassadors, Natalie thanked guests and invited feedback – her team really respect this relationship and the website – www.reallywildclothing.co.uk – will soon feature a blog offering tips on how to wear trends as well as giving customers a chance to get in touch.

This important interactive tool will help the Really Wild the team to ‘bring the brand forward’, as well as maintaining the brand’s approachability.

Speaking of this successful clothing company, owner Gabi – who had flown in from Chile – expressed her “total commitment to the brand”.

Following the talks we were taken over the road to the iconic Ivy restaurant, and were seated in the conservatory/covered garden.

We were welcomed with a bespoke cocktail for the evening – a Really Wild Rhubarb and Raspberry Bramble.

We chose our meal from the three course set menu: I started with Heirloom tomato salad with goats curd which was zingy and light, and my husband had the very tasty Ham hock croquette, served warm atop a celeriac and apple salad.

We both opted for the very sophisticated Hoisin-glazed crispy duck leg for main, a firm favourite for diners at The Ivy.

For dessert we had the Wookey Hole cheese board and the Strawberry ice cream respectively.

The accoutrements to both courses were carefully selected – the creamy, almost nutty mature cheddar was really heightened with the rye crackers and the strawberry ice cream had a sumptuous white chocolate sauce offset by the salty crunch of pistachio.

It is this dedication to ‘loving the customers’ as one brand ambassador perfectly put it, which creates lifelong customers of Really Wild.
