A police chief and senior staff took on a mammoth 26-mile walk to mark the force’s 50th anniversary as well as raise money for a mental health charity.
Chief Constable Francis Habgood teamed up with Deputy Chief Constable John Campbell and 10 other officers and staff trekked through Berkshire, Bucks and Oxfordshire along the Thames Path on Sunday, September 9.
The ambitious walk began in Windsor and the team reached their final destination of Shiplake train station in Oxfordshire nine hours later.
The challenge saw the group raise £4,200 for MIND – which provides support to officers and staff across the Thames Valley Police Force.
Chief constable Habgood said: “This was a fantastic opportunity to get out in to the Thames Valley area and see it from a different perspective while raising money for a very worthy cause. It has been a pleasure meeting people along the way.”
