Firefighters at Marlow Fire Station have been praised for their hard work at an annual awards ceremony.
Lawrence Gillman was nominated for the chief fire officer’s commendation award and won, while Steve Halfacre was presented with a long service medal for 20 years of service to the Marlow community at the Bucks Fire and Rescue annual awards ceremony.
Mr Gillman received the commendation award for providing medical assistance in the High Street when off-duty, after a man had suffered a cardiac arrest.
The fire station itself was also awarded the Mick Daniel Memorial Cup from the Fire Fighters Charity for raising the most money for the charity from an on-call station in Buckinghamshire.
The honours come after 100 firefighters tackled an inferno which engulfed a field in Little Marlow earlier this year and destroyed 30 acres of land and buildings.
Marlow Fire Station said on social media it was a “proud day” for the station following the awards.
