A WOOBURN Green firm raised more than £46,000 for charity in a year-long fundraising effort.
Staff at Takeda UK, based at Glory Park, smashed their initial target of £25,000 this year, taking part in the gruelling London to Paris Ultimate Ride Experience for Myeloma UK.
And between 2016 and 2018, The Myeloma Movers helped to raise more than £100,000 for the charity thanks to support from their families, friends and other residents.
The team also participated in a flower growing challenge. Each member was given 10 marigold seeds and invited to plant them at home to mark Myeloma UK’s 21st birthday at the Chelsea Flower Show, which was celebrated with a show garden at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Jane Oxdale was awarded the prestigious Best in Show prize which was an annual family membership of the Royal Horticultural Society. The team raised a total of £46,664.
A Takeda spokesman said: “Every Takeda team member has an individual, valuable contribution to make and the company is proud of the way it works together with the myeloma community to make ‘small seeds’ of ideas flourish.”
