Residents across Bucks have been urged to have their say on how they think county council spending should be prioritised in the next financial year.
Today a consultation has been launched into Bucks County Council’s financial plans, which asks people their views on how they think money should be spent.
Cabinet member for community engagement and public health on BCC, Noel Brown, said the council is facing “challenging times” so it is important “every pound gets spent where it is needed most”.
He said: “Whether you think we need to spend money on supporting good education and learning for our young people, maintaining our roads and pavements or helping our local economy and businesses to grow, this is your chance to get involved and help shape future spending across Buckinghamshire.
“I know many people have strong views on where the council should spend its money and they may share them with friends or on social media – but giving your views through the budget consultation itself makes sure your views can be heard and considered as part of the actual budget setting process.
“All of the responses submitted through the budget consultation help us to form our spending priorities for the coming year, so this is your opportunity to have your say on how these important decisions are made.”
Leader of BCC, Martin Tett, said he will face some “tough decisions” while setting next year’s budget, so urged residents to share their views on what services should be focussed on.
People who do not have access to a computer can complete the survey at either Amersham, Aylesbury, Buckingham, Chesham, Hazlemere, High Wycombe, Marlow or Princes Risborough libraries, where staff will be able to assist.
The consultation is due to run until November 14. To complete the survey visit www.buckscc.gov.uk/budget2019
