TV presenter Edd China is set to turn on Marlow’s Christmas lights this year.
The motor specialist, mechanic and inventor, who has appeared on TV shows such as Wheeler Deakers, Top Gear, Auto Trader, Scrapheap Challenge and Fifth Gear, will take the coveted place at the top of the double decker bus in the High Street to flick the switch on the town’s lights next month.
Last year’s celebrity guest was comedian Russell Brand, who spoke for his love of Marlow and Marlovians, praising the town and its residents in a heartwarming speech.
Hundreds of people are expected to pack into the High Street again this year for the popular annual Switch on and Shop event on November 22.
To add to the festivities, there will be carols and Christmas music around the bus, which will be stationed again outside the Chequers pub.
The High Street will be closed from 5pm to 7.30pm. There will be fake snow from 6pm and the switch-on ceremony will take place at 6.30pm.
