A popular High Wycombe park is undergoing a makeover, with new footpaths, benches and an in-ground trampoline currently being installed.

Work started at Totteridge Recreation Ground on October 8 following a public consultation, during which residents aired their views on what changes should be made to the park.

Other new features include the creation of a grass cricket square, a seating hammock, a ball wall and outdoor all-weather table tennis tables.

Cabinet member for community at Wycombe District Council, Councillor Graham Peart, said: “Local residents told us what they wanted, and I am delighted to see the launch of this innovative project which will provide their ‘wish list’ and ensure they will be the ones who benefit the most from these improvements.

“This work will increase the range of sport and activity facilities with equipment for everyone from toddlers to seniors throughout the year.”

Chairman of WDC, cllr Tony Green, added: “This is a popular site with residents and my own children loved to play here when they were young. These new features will make it an even more appealing local attraction.”
