Puddings are set to raise money for charity at Wycombe Swan this month.

The theatre is hosting its first Pudding Night on November 16, with BBC Three Counties Breakfast presenter Andy Collins hosting the evening and Wycombe Swan’s head chef Ronald Pangan preparing a feast for those with a sweet tooth.

All proceeds will go to Children in Need and the event will be hosted in the Oak Room.

The evening will start with a prosecco reception, followed by a light main course to prepare the taste buds before five delicious homemade desserts are served, from Bread and Butter Pudding to Sticky Toffee Pudding and Apple Pie.

And, of course, there will be lashings of custard, creams and sauces.

Mr Pangan will also share tips and recipes, and talk about the history of some of his favourite puddings, and tell audiences what goes into creating a delicious and perfectly constructed pastry dish.

Speaking about the most underrated dessert, he said: “Bread and Butter Pudding. People think it’s only made out of stale sliced bread but actually you can make it out of tasty different bread like brioche, pastries and croissants.”

It is also the pudding he looks most forward to making but his favourite is actually hot chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream “and more chocolate sauce”.

Mr Pangan said he likes to make banana muffins with his children, and suggests picking a simple recipe when making a pudding.

He added: “It’s important to get the right amount of sweetness – it’s a fine balance.

“[Also] pick seasonal puddings to really impress.Pumpkin pie will go down a treat this time of year.”

Speaking about the event, Mr Collins said: “I cannot wait to host this amazing event as I love my food, especially when someone else is cooking it. I’ll even bring my own spoon.”

Children in Need has raised more than £950 million from fundraising events such as Pudding Night, and generous donations from the public.

The campaign provides grants to projects in the UK that focus on children and young people who are disadvantaged.

In August, the BBC launched a star-studded 2018 campaign with Tess Daly, Millie King, Rochelle Humes and Peter Andre backing the charity.
