A pensioner was killed in Beaconsfield on Halloween when his car crashed off the road.

The driver of a grey Volkswagen Fox, a man in his seventies from Slough, died at Wexham Park Hospital hours after the crash on the A355 Dorney Hill North at 2.15pm.

The car was travelling towards the M40 at the time.

A woman in her eighties, also from Slough, who was a passenger in the car, suffered serious injuries and is still being treated at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Police are urging anyone with information about the crash to come forward.

Investigating officer PC Anthony Gibson, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit based at Taplow, said: “We are appealing for information following this road traffic collision in which a man sadly died and a woman was injured.

“We are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward.”
