A “record” number of runners donned their trainers at the weekend to raise thousands of pounds for good causes.
The Marlow Half Marathon and Marlow 7 races returned on Sunday, with 1,421 runners taking part in both events.
A total of 1,720 entries were received for both the half marathon and the Marlow 7.
Race director Mike Thompson said: “It was fantastic. It was the 30th anniversary of the half marathon and we had a record number of runners.
“We will be donating more than £20,000 to our good causes.”
For the first time, the Marlow Striders’ event featured a new children’s run – the Kids Kilometre – which saw 78 youngsters take part in the fun run.
Mr Thompson added: “We would have deemed it a success if 50 children took part.
“We had so many runners, they backed up on to the High Street beyond the bridge.
“The feedback we have had has been fantastic.”
