A burglar who raided a property in Farnham Common after escaping from custody has been sent back to prison for four years.

James Delahoyde, 41, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to escaping from Springhill prison on April 22 last year and burgling the property in Beeches Road on August 9 this year.

He stole cash and property in Farnham Common and was charged with both offences on October 21 this year.

He was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Wednesday.

Investigating officer, PC Penelope Jefferys, of the Stronghold Team at Amersham, said: “Thames Valley Police takes all reports of this nature very seriously as it can have a substantial impact on the victims.

“We will always pursue offenders who commit these crimes and cause harm within our communities.

“We worked hard to catch and convict Delahoyde and we are satisfied with the sentence passed down in court.”
