Celebrity Johnny Ball helped a Bucks school celebrate the opening of its new science cabin on Wednesday.
The TV star cut the ribbon and officially declared Butlers Court School’s new building open at its Beaconsfield site.
The former children’s presenter chatted with pupils, staff and members of the PTA during his visit.
The new cabin and outdoor area will allow pupils to learn outside of the classroom.
Science coordinator Mark Lynn said he was thrilled with the new building. He said: “This will hopefully be the catalyst for many pupils to get involved in all science and be able to access the wonderful resources of the school.
“It is hoped that as a primary school we could operate more after school science clubs and provide a link with other science based organisations. Raising the overall profile of science is a real and exciting challenge ahead.”
Headteacher, Jeanette Marshall, added: “It has been a fabulous project, designed and managed by The Cabin Group, who have had a really positive ‘can do’ approach making the whole process so easy.
“We are very lucky to have the wonderful support of our PTA, who raised and contributed funds to make this possible.”
