A motorway crash involving multiple vehicles caused chaos for commuters this morning.
Three out of four of the southbound lanes on the M40 between junction 2 for Beaconsfield and junction 1a for the M25 had to be shut following the crash, which happened at around 7.15am.
All traffic had to be halted until just before 7.45am. An oil spill on the road following the crash meant contractors and officers for Highways England had to use a spill kit to clear it.
Traffic is still slow in the area, although all lanes have now been reopened and the vehicles involved are on the hard shoulder.
