AN ABERGELE student was among a team who devoted their lunch hour to raise funds for two charities.
Emilee Lloyd joined fellow Health & Social Care students at Coleg Llandrillo's Rhos-on-Sea campus for a charity event, which included a tombola and a ‘guess the name of the teddy’ competition, with all the proceeds going to Barnardo’s and Noah's Ark charities.
Emilee said: “We were delighted to raise funds for both Barnardo’s and Noah’s Ark charities. With Noah’s Ark, we wanted to support a charity from Wales and one that was less well known than most of the larger UK charities.”
The students spent months preparing for the day and researching which charities to choose, as well as sourcing donations for their stalls from staff, students and businesses from the area to raise more than £100.
Tutor Alison Daubney-Jones said: “Congratulations to all the students involved; this was the culmination of months of hard work. They worked great as a team and were determined to source a great selection of prizes.”
